At Esteem South Academy, our alternative provision is built on the belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to flourish—emotionally, socially, and academically. We proudly embed the Thrive Approach, a trauma-sensitive and evidence-based framework that supports the development of emotional resilience and wellbeing in children and young people.

Through Thrive, we create personalised action plans that respond to the unique social and emotional needs of our pupils. This enables us to build safe, nurturing environments where barriers to learning are removed, behaviour is transformed, and attendance improves. Our staff are trained to use Thrive strategies to foster trusting relationships, promote self-regulation, and unlock each learner’s potential.

Whether working with pupils facing challenges in mainstream settings or those with complex SEMH needs, our provision ensures that every child feels seen, heard, and supported—so they can thrive both in school and beyond.
